Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Thaer Saud Al-Ghasham, Dean of the College of Engineering, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering, University of Wasit, in cooperation with the Cultural Activities Unit, organized an Iraqi flag-raising ceremony to mark Iraqi National Day. The event was attended by a number of the College’s faculty members, staff, and students.
The ceremony emphasized the importance of fostering the values of citizenship and national belonging, strengthening pride in Iraqi identity, and embodying the meanings of unity, solidarity, and loyalty to the homeland. It also provided an occasion to remember the great sacrifices made by the Iraqi people to protect their land and preserve its security and stability.
The event took place in a patriotic atmosphere filled with pride and appreciation. Participants expressed their devotion to their country, affirming that the Iraqi flag will always remain a symbol of sovereignty, dignity, and national unity, representing one Iraq with all its communities and components.
Through such national events, the College Deanship reaffirms its commitment to supporting initiatives and activities that promote national awareness among students and staff, and to strengthening the values and principles that enhance the University’s role in serving society and building a conscious and responsible generation that carries the message of knowledge and belonging.
